Invitations to social events date back to approximately the 16th century but became "high fashion" by the European aristocracy around the early 1700s. The hand written announcement of an important social event was a mark of education and good taste. Those who could write had beautiful penmanship and the calligraphy on the invitation became a work of art.
Karla's invitations are not just unique but are designed individually and truly reflect the personality of the customer, often bringing into the design favorite hobbies, beloved pets and varied interests. The original papercut is framed after being photographed for the printed version. The inside text is generally lifted from the Torah portion and has special significance. Papercuts are 8" x 10" to 11" x 14", and a flat $500.00. The price of the invitations varies according to what the family selects from a standard invitation book.
While most invitations are fleeting and thrown away, THIS invitation is artwork that lasts forever.
